A hardware shop
in Gorwa.
Serving homeowners, carpenters, builders and contractors across Vadodara.
Our story
Kala Enterprise began the way most good hardware shops do — with a small counter, a short shelf, and a steady stream of people who needed one particular thing and needed it today. Gorwa was building fast, and the carpenters and contractors working those sites did not want a catalogue. They wanted the right hinge for the weight of the door, and they wanted it before the morning was gone. Over the years that short shelf grew into the full range we carry now, but the way we work has not changed.
Hardware is bought badly more often than almost anything else in a home, because from the front a cheap handle and a good one look identical. The difference is solid brass against a thin plating over pot metal; a hinge with real ball bearings against one that will squeal within two years; a tower bolt in grade 304 stainless against a plated bolt that seizes solid after two monsoons. Nobody can see that difference across a counter, which is precisely why we take the trouble to explain it rather than simply selling whatever carries the largest margin.
So we stock the brands we can stand behind — Godrej, Yale, Dorset, Hettich, Ebco and the rest — and we buy them through authorised channels, because this trade has no shortage of convincing lookalikes. We sell to a contractor fitting out forty flats and to a homeowner replacing one drawer knob, at prices that make sense for both. And we would far rather spend ten minutes working out what a job actually needs than sell you something twice that you have to come back and replace.
Bring us the old part, or a photograph of it. We will tell you the backset, the finish and the fitting that will still be working in fifteen years.

What we are trying to do
To be the shop in Vadodara where you are told the truth about hardware — what it is made of, how long it will last, and whether you actually need the expensive one.
That means keeping genuine stock rather than cheap substitutes, holding enough depth that a job is not held up waiting on a single fitting, and pricing the same part fairly whether it leaves in a contractor's van or a shopping bag. It is not a complicated ambition. It is just one that needs attending to, every day, across several hundred small metal objects.
