A digital lock that does not strand you outside. Four independent ways to open it — a PIN code, an RFID card or tag, a mechanical override key, and a one-time code you can issue to a guest or a delivery — mean a flat battery or a forgotten card is an inconvenience rather than a locksmith call. The keypad scrambles two random digits into the entry sequence so that finger grease on the pad does not reveal your code. Four AA cells run it for roughly twelve months, with low-battery warnings for weeks beforehand and an emergency 9 V terminal on the underside.
